Devon Barkway: “I have always been interested in the technical field and I found out that the Saimaa University of Applied Sciences had a degree programme in mechanical engineering. What's more, it was taught in English. This was perfect for me as my Finnish is not so good.”
Thuc Anh Hoang: “I really enjoy studying in the Saimaa University of Applied Sciences. The teachers are very caring to the students and always listen. The learning methods and materials support our studies and thinking. Our group is very large but we have got to know each other by group works.”
Essi Pennanen: “Hotel and restaurant business, especially tourism, has always interested me. I gained experience in tourism when I lived a couple of years in Boston, the USA, and in the UK. Thus, it seemed natural to improve my language skills also during my studies. Hotel and restaurant business is a very international field and good language skills are needed there.”

My wife and her family live in Lappeenranta, so I wanted to find a place to study in this area.
