Applicants with non-Finnish qualifications
- A copy of the original certificate and transcript of records
- A copy of an authorised Finnish, Swedish or English translation of the certificate, if the certificate is not written in one of these languages
- A compulsory language skills certificate for applicants who are not citizens of an EU/EEA country
All those applicants who are applying with a qualification completed somewhere else than in Finland and are not citizens of an EU/EEA-country, must provide a proof of language skill. Accepted certificates are:
- TOEFL score 550 pbt/79-80 ibt
- IELTS academic score 6.0
- grade C in the Finnish Matriculation examination in advanced level English
- skills level 4 in English in the National Certificate of Language Proficiency (http://www.oph.fi -> Tutkinnot ja opiskelu -> Yleiset kielitutkinnot)
Both TOEFL and IELTS test results are valid for two years. The National Certificate of Language Proficiency does not have a set date of validity. TOEFL score results are only accepted directly from the Educational Testing Service. The TOEFL code of Saimaa University of Applied Sciences is 1967. Applicants can use the code when they register for the TOEFL test and indicate our institution as a score recipient. More information about the TOEFL test at http://www.ets.org In addition upper secondary education or University degree in English completed in the United Kingdom, Ireland, the United States of America, Canada, Australia or New Zealand is also accepted as a demonstration of sufficient English language skills. Education in English completed in any other country will not be accepted.
