All those applicants who are applying with a qualification completed somewhere else than in Finland and are not citizens of an EU/EEA-country, must provide a proof of language skill. Accepted certificates are:
Both TOEFL and IELTS test results are valid for two years. The National Certificate of Language Proficiency does not have a set date of validity. TOEFL score results are only accepted directly from the Educational Testing Service. The TOEFL code of Saimaa University of Applied Sciences is 1967. Applicants can use the code when they register for the TOEFL test and indicate our institution as a score recipient. More information about the TOEFL test at http://www.ets.org In addition, upper secondary level school education in English completed in Great Britain, Ireland, the United States, Canada, Australia or New Zealand or a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree completed in English in one of these countries, is also accepted as a demonstration of sufficient English language skills. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree conducted in English in a European Union/European Economic Area -country is also accepted as a demonstration of sufficient English language skills. No other countries will be considered. Applicants with Finnish qualifications when applicable
Discretionary admissionSaimaa UAS uses discretionary admission if the skills and knowledge of an ineligible applicant are sufficient. In discretionary admission the applicant is evaluated by the result of the entrance examination only. An applicant who wants to apply for discretionary admission, can apply at www.admissions.fi. In addition he/she has to send the copies of relevant certificates to our admissions office and inform us that he/she is applying for discretionaty admission. The copies of relevant certificates has to be delivered to the Admissions Office by 24 February 2012 at 4.15 p.m. Finnish time. |
