Transferring the right to study from another university of applied sciencesThe term transfer student refers to a student with a study right at a Finnish university of applied sciences (UAS) who wishes to transfer from one Finnish UAS to another Finnish UAS. The right of transfer also applies to adult education, education provided in a foreign language and education leading to a polytechnic Master’s degree. A student may be accepted as a transfer student on the following conditions:
A student may only transfer to another university of applied sciences to study for the same degree/degree title in the same degree programme or a corresponding degree programme or, in the degree programme in nursing, in the same specialisation option as a rule. Once the student has received a favourable decision from the new university of applied sciences, he or she must submit a notification of resignation from his or her original university of applied sciences. A university student or a student from a foreign university of applied sciences cannot be accepted as a transfer student. The dean of the faculty will make the decision on accepting a transfer student based on his/her discretion. The dean of the faculty will make the decision on accepting an adult student as a transfer student in cooperation with the dean of adult education. Changing the degree programme at Saimaa UASA student changing the degree programme is a student who changes from one degree programme to another within the UAS and within the faculty while the degree studied for remains the same. The right to change degree programmes can be granted upon application, if the admission criteria of the programmes have been the same. Changing the specialisation option is possible at the discretion of the Dean of Faculty. The decision on the change of degree programme will be made by the Dean of the receiving faculty. ApplicationSend your official Study Certificate and Transcript of Records (both signed and sealed by the Student Office) and if necessary the clarification statement from your university of applied sciences concerning any pending completed credits. All documents to be considered must be scanned and attached to the application. You should submit your application in good time before the planned start of your studies to ensure a smooth start. We recommend that you send in your application by 15 May, if the education is to begin in the autumn term, and by 1 December, if the education is to begin in January. NoteTransferring from one faculty to another (to another degree) requires submitting an application via the regular joint application system. If you have resigned from another university of applied sciences and wish to study at another university of applied sciences, you need to apply via the regular application procedure
