The physical training services of Saimaa UAS and LUT are going to merge
Tuesday, 15 November 2011 09:56

From January 2012 on the physical training and welfare services of Saimaa UAS and LUT (Lappeenranta University of Technology) are going to merge. The merger’s name is SaLUT – Saimaan korkeakoululiikunta (SaLUT – university physical training). The name symbolizes cooperation and local character. The word ‘salut’ is not only a greeting but means ‘health and welfare’ in the Romanic languages.

Due to the above mentioned arrangements the students will have to pay a minor participation fee. The fee will be used for developing the physical training activities and organizing e.g. group exercises.

This project is sponsored by LUT, Saimaa UAS, the Ministry of Education and Culture, the students’ union of LUT, the students’ health care foundation and the students’ sports club SC Lötköt, Lappeenranta. The City of Lappeenranta supports this project by making sports and exercise facilities available to students.
