Mentoring refers to the supportive relationship between a representative of the work-force (mentor) and a student (actor). The relationship should provide the student with help regarding studies, career choice, and other matters related to working life.

The students of this polytechnic have the opportunity to apply for a mentor through the project, “Mentoring for the Development of Competencies and Work Relationships”. This project also provides for the schooling and guidance of the mentors.

Attributes of an Actor

• is committed to taking responsibility for personal and professional development
• wants to experience new challenges and move forward in career planning
• has sufficient skills and background for meaningful discussion with the mentor
• is able to appreciate feedback and constructive criticism

Participation in the mentoring programme may be credited as elective studies by agreement of the head of the department of study.
