The Finnish Online University of Applied Sciences is a nationally cooperative project among Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS). The universities of applied sciences courses of study may be seen at its website, http://www.virtuaaliamk.fi/en/index.html, where the universities of applied sciences offers varied, primarily web-based courses.

All attending students on degree programmes are able to peruse the offerings using the above link by registering and completing the online application form. The application form is used to register for any course offered by participating universities of applied sciences. Virtual universities of applied sciences courses are offered free of charge to enrolled students

Students are encouraged to discuss course options with their Tutor-teacher to ensure course compatibility with their degree plan. Virtual universities of applied sciences studies are reported as approved for the degree plan at the end of the course when the grades are sent to the student office for registration.

At the end of the application period for a particular course, the application must also be submitted to the director of the home UAS’s study programme for approval. There is a designated person at Saimaa University of Applied Sciences responsible for the review and acceptance or rejection of applications for virtual study. Students are automatically notified via email when their applications for virtual study have been approved.
