Studies at the universities of applied (UAS) sciences are practice-oriented alternatives to traditional university education in Finland. Studies at UAS give the students an excellent combination of hands-on skills along with a strong theoretical knowledge base.
At the Saimaa University of Applied Sciences (SUAS), English degree programmes are offered in the fields of engineering (bachelor of engineering), business (bachelor of business administration), tourism and hospitality (bachelor of hospitality management) and nursing (bachelor of nursing). Each programme includes foundation studies, professional studies, practical training, and a bachelor's thesis. On the job training is an integral part of the studies, and includes projects done in cooperation with employers/companies in the field. All this gives students the opportunity to start integrating into working life during their studies.
Having completed the Bachelor’s degree and acquired work experience of three years, you will have good opportunities to continue your studies in our Master’s degree programme in International Business Management or in Fine Arts.
The scope of studies at universities of applied sciences is from 210-240 ECTS, and takes place in 3.5 to 4 years. This includes a total of one-half year of practice in working life. Students are also encouraged to complete part of their studies as an exchange student, either in work practice or theory in one of our many partner universities abroad.
Non-EU/EEA students are subject to tuition fees. More information about tuition fees and the scholarship scheme here.
