On the first week of October 2018, the Saimaa University of Applied Sciences was pleased to host its international partners at the Skinnarila campus in Lappeenranta and at the Linnala campus in Imatra.
The International Week for professionals working in higher education has been a tradition for a few years. This year it brought together 100 leaders, teachers and administrative staff members from 20 countries.
“The participants had a chance to excel their knowledge and skills, share their experiences with peers from a wide range of countries, and also network with colleagues,” Kristiina Rita, the Service Manager, said.
The themes of the International Week were creating truly international higher education communities, integrating international students, new trends in digital teaching, and sharing the best practices for academic and non-academic staff. The programme included e.g. lectures, and company visits.
“The international teachers were also bringing their expertise to the teaching sessions and giving lectures to our students,” Kristiina Rita said.
