The Graduation Ceremony of October on Tuesday, 31 October at 14.00 at the Skinnarila Campus. The Ceremony is in the cabinet of the staff in Restaurant Skinnarila.


The opening ceremony for the academic year 2017 - 2018 on Friday, 15 September at 14.00.

Students and teachers may sit in free chairs and follow the ceremony from the other floors. The programme of the ceremony will be updated later in August. Read more here.

The students of Saimaa UAS are welcome to join the courses in LUT Summer School.

Saimaa UAS students can join the courses free of charge. The evening program costs 139/199 €. All LUT Summer School courses are Masters’-level courses, but the students who study their last year in Bachelors’-level can also join.

There are room at least in the following courses of mechanical engineering and IT:

-  Additive Manufacturing - 3D Printing, 3 ECTS
-  Material Selection and Manufacturability Aspects of Energy Technology Applications, 3 ECTS
-  Visitor's Viewpoint on Software Engineering - Software Engineering for Sustainability, 3 ECTS
-  Code Camp, 1 ECTS

The Graduatuion Ceremony at the Linnalan Campus (Restaurant Linnala) on Wednesday, 24 May at 10.00. At the Skinarila Campus, the ceremony starts at 13.00.

The Skinnarila campus will celebrate the centenary of Finland’s independence on April 6th – join in the festivities!

On Thursday, April 6th, all educational institutions in South Karelia will arrange a celebratory Finland 100 event. Also Saimaa University of Applied Sciences and Lappeenranta University of Technology will be taking part. Both staff members and students are welcome to attend.

We will commemorate one hundred years of Finnish independence in a number of ways:

  • The Teekkarilaulajat and Resonanssi choirs will perform (Restaurant Skinnarila at 11.00 and Student Union House lobby at 11.20)
  • Wish map –  come tell what hopes and wishes you have for Finland in the future (Restaurant Skinnarila 10.00-14.00 and in social media, #skinnarilasuomi100)
  • Celebratory menu designed by South Karelian chefs at Restaurant Skinnarila and the Student Union House
  • Non-stop screening of a short film on the 100-year history of South Karelia (Student Union House lobby 10.00-16.00)
  • Introduction of the Finnish presidents:
