Study objectives

Degree Programme in International Business provides students with solid understanding of different approaches to performing business.

The programme will give the student professional competence within broad scope of international business, versatile problem-solving and social skills needed in a multicultural environment, as well as tools for communicating the solutions.

Study contents

The programme includes business studies, management, marketing, finanacial management and supply chain management studies as well as language and intercultural communication studies.

Real life projects are part of the studies and that way students learn to work in multicultural project teams and also to manage projects.

The International Business study programme includes a semester long exchange study period at one of our partner institutions. Students may also do their placement almost anywhere in the world.

Final project

A  bachelor's thesis (15 ECTS) is included in the programme. Most students do their bachelor's thesis as a development project which aims to produce new solutions for companies by combining theoretical knowledge with practical skills.

International activities are considered to be an essential development area at Saimaa University of Applied Sciences, and the range of foreign partners is wide and well-established.

International Business studies prepares the student for the diverse aspects of business operations including studies of management, marketing, finance and logistics.

It prepares the student to the international business world that needs multicultural experts for companies and various foreign trade positions to run operations and implement projects around the world.

International Business students may choose whether they want to deepen their expertise in leadership, international marketing or supply chain management.

Eligible for second-cycle higher education studies. The admissions decisions are made in the receiving higher education institution.

Tuition fee

Non-EU/EEA students are subject to tuition fees. The annual tuition fee for students in Bachelor´s degree programmes is 5 400 e/year. Applying for the 50 % scholarship is possible after the first academic year. To be able to use the given option, you must be able to study full time during the first academic year - meaning, that you must complete a minimum of 55 ECTS credits of studies that are included in your personal study plan.
