Language and communication skills needed in companies and communities are the basis of language studies at the universities. The objective of the language studies is to help students become international professionals who can communicate fluently and naturally at least in three languages. Students focus not only on field-specific language skills, but also on intercultural communication. In addition, students understand the meaning of livelong language learning and are motivated by it.
Language studies contain professional language courses, e.g. Business Correspondence, and concise communication elements, e.g. report writing, that are fully integrated into professional courses.
All professional language courses included in a certain Saimia degree programme can be seen on SoleOps under the degree programme. All other language courses are listed on “Language Studies 2018-2019”.
In addition to field-specific language studies, students are able to study elective languages, Elective language studies include courses in Russian, German, French, Spanish, Chinese, Finnish as a Foreign Language, English and Swedish. Elective courses in Russian, German, Spanish and French are taught in English and in Finnish. The courses can be found on SoleOps at Language Studies.
